WorldFlight 2014

Postby Edward Watson » Sat Aug 02, 2014 12:44 am

It has been suggested to me to create a PIREP page for WorldFlight 2014.
As we don't have an official Simulator Team in this year's event, the concept is still to have a Noble Team take part.

The concept is:
You visit the WF2014 PIREP page..
You Book a leg..
When the Aircraft has landed and PIREP'd, it will send you an email.
After Landing PIREP Immediately!.. so the next pilot can prepare.
You pick up the aircraft and fly the leg you booked.

Now there are set conditions:
The aircraft MUST be flown on Vatsim.
The flight MUST take off within 50mins of you receiving the email to keep up with the group.
Pilots MUST be on TeamSpeak for the duration.
Flights to be completed in B738 - because everyone has one, and it's in Noble Colours on Vatsim and in our library.

If you are unable to make a flight you booked.. (Severe Penalties may apply.. ie. Restricted to Regional Flights for the term of your natural life! etc, or loss of all flight hours Past, Present and Future!).

The aim to appear as a Noble Team taking part in WorldFlight, without everyone actually being in only one place.

I am looking for expressions whether our pilots would be interested in this concept, but it will not work unless you can commit to the conditions

If we do put together a team, the Flight Route has been released.

Remember .. 2015.. there will be an official Simulator Team again.. (Start Planning your trip to Adelaide, Australia.. it's an unbelievable week!)

I am interested...however, given the steep penalties  ...I'll have to wait until much closer to the actual event to commit fully.

I haven't any other plans for November :D this could work well especially if we get pilots from the three continents to take part, so e.g. UK pilots can fly legs when it is night in Oceania etc. It might be difficult to cover every leg, so if all the routes are in the PIREP we could use the jump seat feature to keep the aircraft in the VATSIM window. :? :?: :!:

WorldFlight 2014 is approaching, and as we do not have an official sim in this years event it was decided by the board to run it as a tag-team event.

In the flights menu of the PIREP system is a WorldFlight link, the rest is self explanatory.. Be aware of the conditions of booking a flight which you are asked to agree to at the time of booking via confirmation.

If you book a flight, then are unable to complete the flight notify Norbert (NBL2682G) or myself (NBL3668G) so we can remove you from the flight.

if you have any problems, do not hesitate to contact me.

Thank you Ed for putting this together for us. It is much appreciated. See if we can get this off the ground with all our noble pilots around the world. I have booked the first leg to start it off.
Please note as a special incentive there will be no worldflight 2014 ribbon this year and the only way to achieve worldflight 2014 award is by participating in this event. I would suggest that to qualify a minimum of 3 flights must be booked and completed as per rules. Hope that many can join in and we can get a complete crew together. Do not hesitate to ask should you have any questions.
