USA East Bound Flight

Postby Mark Newby » Sun Dec 18, 2016 7:11 am

I sure am glad I was going easterly bound instead of westerly bound tonight. Flew from KOKC to KORD. I had a tail wind greater than this part of the way.

I see you were still climbing, how big was the push at cruise? I know going East from the Orient, I've quite often gotten big push. really concerns me some times.

Good time to cross the pond to Europe. They are forecasting the jet stream to be 200+ kts over the next few days :D

Milt,

The winds didn't get much stronger. I think the highest tail wind that I had was about 135 Kts to 145 Kts. I'm just glad I wasn't making the flight from from KORD to KOKC as that would have been my head wind... :D

I flew KORD-KALB this morning... not quite as much a push as you had, but I think my top GS was around 574kts during the flight.

Good thing you weren't flying the other direction!
