Welcome to Reverse Panic Stations Adelaide!

Flipping our much loved Panic Stations on it's head, Reverse Panic Stations aims to give ATC a whole new kind of busy.

Instead of trying to arrive at a specified time, this time it's all about what time you get airborne, as determined by the Tower Controller, and an independent Observer.

Factors to consider:

Radio Congestion - Should you get your airways clearance early? How early is too early? What happens if the active runway changes? Do you know how to use Pre-Departure Clearance?

Queue for departure - Can you calculate your optimum pushback time based on the current queue for departure?

Rules:

Aircraft must depart within normal time frames once cleared for take-off. Aircraft deemed to be intentionally delaying their departure will not be eligible for bragging rights.

Event Details:

Our inaugural Reverse Panic Stations takes place in Adelaide on Sunday, May 17th. Target time for being airborne is 8:30pm AEST which should ensure excellent ATC coverage for your entire flight.
